Important Notice Regarding Van Nuys Airport Citizens Advisory Council Meeting Tues. Jan. 19, 1999 Urgent Action Needed!

The Van Nuys Airport Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) will take up the Van Nuys Airport (VNY) Economic Impact Report at a special Meeting on Tuesday, January 19, at 7 p.m. Airtel Plaza Hotel, Van Nuys

It is extremely important that you attend this meeting and make your feelings known about VNY expansion.

The CAC will spend the entire session on this biased, self-serving report, paid for by the airport. The meeting will be attended by many City Councilperson aides who will be listening and report the CAC's recommendations back to their respective Council person. In the past, meetings of this sort were stacked with "pro-airport' expansionists. Airport tenants loaded these meetings with employees who claimed that their jobs would be lost, if the Non-Addition rule was passed.

We ask that you end your friends attend this special meeting and speak out about the noise! Strong support for a Non-Addition rule by the public will help establish the need for stopping more noisy Stage 2 aircraft coming into VNY.

You will be allowed to comment. If you haven't attended a meeting such as this in the past, do so now. I am attaching a copy of the special meeting Agenda. Please look it over' and be prepared to strongly support A Non-Addition rule. You should also demand that the airport PHASE OUT noisy Stage 2 jets. Non-Addition without phase out will only mean that the current noise limits will be locked in, and even get substantially worse.

We will publish a notice about the upcoming Board of Airport Commissions (BOAC) meeting scheduled for Wed., January 27th,, at 7 pm. at the same location. Please plan on attending this meeting as well
