Comments by Gerald Silver on agenda
Item #1 takes up the VNY Master Plan. We believe that the Airport wishes to TAKE BACK control of the Master Plan from the Planning Dept. This is a bad move for residents, since the Airport has not been favorable to residents on noise issues. You may wish to speak at this meeting and oppose any efforts by the BOAC to take back the control of the Master Plan from the Planning Dept.
Item #2 covers rental rate policy. We urge you to speak out on this issue, and insist that rental rates CONSIDER the amount of noise made by aircraft using the airport. MORE noise should mean HIGHER LEASE RATES!
Item #3 is a status report on the Part 150 Study recommendations. Item #4 involves the need for an Interim Control Ordinance (ICO) to STOP ALL AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT, until the Master Plan is finished.
